There are several players in manufacturing and marketing of these products. These embedded mini flash drives may be called by different names such as Mini IDE, MIDE, Micro IDE, DiskOnChip IDE, ATA-Disk Chip, IDE Flash Module, Drive On Module (DOM), Mini_IDE, Flash Disk Module, etc.
PSI supplies three brands for
your better selection. Click on the brand to jump forward.
Both standard commercial temperature and wide-temperature mini IDE flash
disk modules are offered. Depending on your applications, you may choose
either the vertical or horizontal version. Horizontal drives normally do
not have an enclosure. We
only offer flash storage products that are High shock &
vibration-resistant and meet military MIL-STD 810F
standards.
PSI-APRO 3.3V/5V Micro IDE Flash Modules (DOMs):
40 and
44-pin female IDE connector, vertical and horizontal configurations with
operating limits of commercial temperature (0 - +70 deg C) or
industrial temperature (-40 - +85 deg C). Shock: 1500G; Vibration:
20G. Meets MIL-STD 810F standards. All are
RoHS-compliant.
Depending on the connector orientation, the horizontal micro IDE flash modules supplied by APRO have "Rightwards" and "Leftwards" versions. Please check the pin 1 location on your motherboard and compare with the figure below.

Note:
1. The new Hermit-A series flash drives support up to 266x speed. Click here for specs.
2. Not all IDE sockets can support UDMA mode. If you are sure your socket can support the UDMA mode and your application requires up to UDMA-4 speed, please choose parts with -U or -A suffix. Data Transfer Rate: IDE interface is always Fixed Disk Mode
P: PIO-4 Mode/fixed disk type
U: defaulted as UDMA-4 Mode/fixed disk type
A: Auto detect PIO or UDMA data mode. (for Hermit series drives)
3. APRO's cards are made-to-order only. Orders are non-returnable and non-exchangeable so make sure you have the right part and/or pre-approve the samples before quantity order. Defective cards are covered by manufacturer's warranty.
4. Optional conformal coating is available.
5. Most of the parts listed below are made-to-order only and there is a 2 -3 weeks lead time.
6. Due to the EOL of Samsung SLC flash chips, all parts below are using Toshiba SLC chips now. The part # suffixes are changed from -HACSC and HAISI to -HACTC and HAITI, respectively. Product specifications remain the same. The old Samsung chip parts are available till 12/05/2013.

For Hermit-A series drives above: part #s with -A suffix support PIO and UDMA modes.
-P Suffix: Supports up to PIO-4. Speed is slower but compatible with most boards.
-U Suffix: Supports UDMA-4 mode. Speed is faster but some old boards may not support
-A Suffix: Auto detect PIO or UDMA Mode,
C-1 (Pretec) MIDE(Mini IDE) is a high reliability, high performance, low noise embedded solid state flash disk drive based on the standard PC IDE port. Lynx-series MIDE works as a normal IDE-based ATAPI hard disk drive and does NOT need any special driver or BIOS support. These MIDE drives are compatible with any computer board that features standard 40-pin / pitch 2.54mm of desktop / notebook type IDE connectors.
