There are several players in
manufacturing and marketing of this product. They may be called Mini IDE,
MIDE, DiskOnChip IDE, ATA-Disk Chip, IDE Flash Module, Drive
On Module, Mini_IDE, Flash Disk Module, etc. Some are supplied with housing
and some are not.
Mini-IDE (MIDE) Flash Disk is a high-reliability, low-cost,
flexible Flash solution for applications that require low power consumption,
ruggedness, reliability and compatibility in a compact environment. Its
Flash technology design is built to work in the harshest environments where
intense vibration and shock cannot be allowed to compromise data integrity.
MIDE Non-recoverable error rate is less than 1 error per 1014
bit-reads with no seeks errors and 1,000,000 hours Mean time between failure
(MTBF). Its solid-state construction requires no preventative maintenance.
The MIDE Flash Drive is a flash technology based on IDE interface,
using an ATA controller chip interfacing with NAND/AND based flash memory,
fully compatible with ATA/ATAPI-4 by emulating IDE hard disk drives, MIDE
is the perfect choice for solid-state mass-storage in Industrial
Applications operating in harsh environment. Capacities are available from
16MB to 384MB unformatted. Three different shapes to accommodate your needs:

horizontally.
